Rentals in Almunecar – what’s on in June.
The fiesta season here in Almunecar on the south coast of Spain has already started with the Cruces de Mayo and the coming month of June will be one of the best times of the year to be here as mid-summer’s day arrives. Although the weather has been a bit breezy here in the last few days it is unlikely that the weather which is already seeing steady temperatures in Almunecar in the low twenties will deteriorate on bring any rainy periods between now and the end of October or even November.
The predictably dry weather means that many activities can be held outdoors. The festival of San Juan (23rd and 24th of June) is a beach festival that is always well attended particularly in Almunecar and is one of the main festivals of the year and celebrated along the whole of the coast by locals and visitors alike. Apartment rentals in Almunecar particularly near the beach are typically at full capacity at this time.
Other popular events held in Almuñecar in June include the Gastronomic fare held in Majuelo Park near the ruins of a Roman fish processing building. This is earlier in the month between the 5th and 7th. Also this month is the Corpus Christi celebration which is held on the second Thursday after Whitsun and is intended to celebrate the presence of the body of Christ in the holy wafer. In Almunecar the procession is held on the following Sunday.
