Tourism is an important contributor to Salobrena’s economy but it has approached development differently from other coastal towns in Andalucia and there are no highrise and few hotels in Salobrena which means that most visitors arrange to stay in one of the villas for rent in Salobrena which are located usually on the quiet hillsides overlooking the town and beaches.

The best known hotel in Salobrena is Hotel Salobrena (a Best Western hotel) located on a headland about four kilometers from the center of Salobrena. The hotel has excellent views and a large swimming pool . It is popular with Saga holiday makers and has been undergoing various improvements over recent years. This is the largest and best appointed hotel in Salobrena but many find its location to be too far from the town to be convenient.

Another popular and recently built hotel for short stays in the town of Salobrena is the Hotel Avenida, there is an area on the roof ton relax where there is a jacuzzi but it has no pool. Also in the town there are various hostals such as the Jayma and hostal San Juan as well as several pensiones which are more basic.

Just outside of Salobrena, no more than three kilometers away there is a boutique hotel “Casa de los Bates” which has beautiful grounds encircled with 100 year old palm trees.
