Salobrena Fiestas & Festivals

In Salobrena there are many festivals and fiestas throughout the year many of which have religious significance and relate to Saint days. Some are national holidays but there are also local festivals celebrated in Salobrena but not in neighbouring towns and other days where there are local fairs. Particularly in the summer months it can be difficult to keep track of everything that is happening as some events such as the medieval Nazari festival are not always well published ahead of time so it may be worthwhile spending a few minutes at the Salobrena tourist office.

The Nazari medieval festival in Salobrena is a Arab style medieval market celebrated over several days in the garden area just below the castle. This is a recently established festival which was first held early in the summer and in the last two years in early spring. Continuing with the Arabic theme there are also Arabic style dinners held within the castle grounds in the summer months.

Also early in the summer there is the Salobrena fair which lasts for a week and well as many rides and attractions there are concerts and music which go on to the early morning.
