La Herradura is located on the coast at the far western end of the Costa Tropical, neighbouring Nerja and the Costa del Sol. The main access to La Herradura is from Malaga airport along the new coastal motorway which connects this quiet coastal town to the Costa del Sol. For many years the coastal motorway terminated in Nerja and has only recently been extended to the outskirts of La Herradura, making the connection with the the airport and Costa del Sol very quick – the airport in Malaga being only abot 40 minutes from La Herradura and Nerja is only 6 minutes along the motorway.

Alternatively if you set out from Granada or Almeria you will arrive along the N340 from the east passing Salobrena and Almunecar as you make your way along the winding coast road which provides a good introduction to the area as well as stunning views across the blue Mediterranean as you cross the Costa Tropical.
