Almunecar has a wide range of hotels many of which are bursting at the seams in summer but despite pressure form the Almunecar Town Hall for them to remain open even some of the larger ones close during the winter months as they mainly focus on the Spanish holiday market which dries up from late summer to early spring.

One of the areas with the highest density of hotels is along the San Cristobal beach, just a few minutes walk past the Peñon (a large rock which divides the two main beaches) to the center of the town. Here you will find large hotels within easy walking distance of the sea such as Hotel Helios, Almunecar Playa, Victoria Playa. Further to the west there are other smaller hotels, some of which are within some of the apartment buildings such as the aparthotels China Sol and Epsylon. To the east of the town there are other large hotels such as Hotel Bahia and a little distance outside of the town Hotel Playa Calida. Again within this area there are various smaller hotels and aparthotels in different apartments buildings along Playa Velilla and the beach promenade.
