Costa Tropical August Events (10th August)

This week as well as the Almunecar fair there are numerous other events to attend along the Costa Tropical culminating on saturday with a national holiday and lots of fireworks.
The main event of the week is the Motril town festival which competes with the Almunecar Feria, starting on the tuesday and runs until the weekend. There will be lots of fair ground rides but Motril town hall is particularly proud of a series of free concerts in the evening (starting at about 11pm each evening). The main concert of the week, held on the thursday, is likely to be Andy and Lucas. Like Almunecar there will be a large fireworks display down on the beach (Playa Poniente) on the saturday night.
In Salobrena this week there will be a medieval market in the park on the way down to the beach it will only be on two days and is it the middle of the week (tuesday and wednessday)- previously it has always spanned a weekend and been held in the pedestrian walkway below the towns medieval castle – no doubt the late news of this will catch a few people out.
Do not rely on any shops being open the coming weekend – but there should be lots of bars and restaurants all willing to ensure you do not go hungry or thirsty!
