Costa Tropical Accommodation – for skiing

sierra-downhillIf you plan on skiing this winter but also want to get some sun and lie on a beach for a few hours then you can find Costa Tropical accommodation to satisfy both your desires. Despite a recent but brief covering of snow on the the Sierra Nevada we are still along way off winter (with temperatures consistantly mid or even high 20s Celsius in the day. However, the snow did act as a reminder that soon we will be able to enjoy again winter sports. The Sierra Nevada just outside of Granada and only one hour from the coast has its own ski resort, this is as a result of the highest point of continental Spain, the Mulhacén mountain at 3,478 metres being located in the Sierra Nevada. It has become a popular tourist destination , with its high peaks offering the possibility to ski in Europe’s most southern ski resort. For about 40 € you get your daily ski pass and you can enjoy about a 100 km of slopes with up to 350 cm of depth. Last year was a particularly good year for skiing and the resort remained open for 168 days. Normally the resort opens the first weekend of December – provided there is snow – and has never failed to open in the last ten years that I have been here. The closest coastal location to the skiing is at Salobrena and we have a number of luxury villa rentals in Salobrena which will help you unwind. By booking your accommodation on the Costa Tropical in one of the luxury villas we have you can be assured that you have the best possibility of enjoying a beach and snow winter’s break – for the price of one holiday.
