Costa Tropical Accommodation – End of the Ski Season
April 19, 2009 by Costa Tropical Rentals · Leave a Comment
With Easter (Semana Santa) now over the nearby ski resort (Sol y Nieve) just an hour’s drive from many rental villas in Salobrena, Costa Tropical is getting ready for the last few keen visitors this year.
Tomorrow (20th April) spring officially arrives on the Sierra Nevada (about a month later than on the Costa Tropical) with special discount lift passes (forfaits) which allow 5 hours skiing for just 20 euros. It is even possible to rent apartments for less than 40 euros a night including the ski pass! If you have not tried skiing before then for 55 euros per person two people can hire equipment, get a ski pass and an hour and a half of lessons.
With so much snow this year there is still more than enough for everyone to enjoy until the end of the month when the ski season will finish (last day of April). Here is a link to the web cam at Pradollano – Sierra Nevada WebCam which shows all the snow. (Please not though that not all runs are open during the last ten days).
So if you want to leave the warm weather on the coast and spend a day in the warm weather up in the snow of the Sierra Nevada it is only an hour’s drive fom your holiday accommodation if you are in Salobrena (if you are renting in Almunecar it is only an additional ten minutes!).
